  The Guest House

The Four Winds Guest House evokes another era with its
1930s charm and spectacular setting near the mighty Grand Coulee Dam.
Originally, the "North Dormitory"
of the construction period
"Government Camp", the Guest House has sheltered engineers,
a clinic, an office building, a
print shop, a boarding house,
and a rooming house.

It is among the oldest homes in the charming town of Coulee Dam and
is the last of the government built homes still open to the public.

Convenient to fishing, walking, hiking, touring, boating,
picnicking, golfing and other recreational activities

The Guest House is within easy walking distance of the Grand Coulee Dam and
its fabulous high-tech Laser Light Show. Also within walking enjoyment are city
parks, tennis and handball courts, and an inspiring walking trail along the serene
and scenic Columbia River. Just at our back door is a somewhat challenging
gorge-to-crest hiking trail linking Candy and Crown Points. This trail was placed
by the C.C.C. in 1934 and remains in superior condition with a well defined path
and stone steps. It provides a magnificent overview of the Grand Coulee Dam,
Lake Roosevelt, and the Columbia River.

The Guest House offers ten spacious rooms for guests’ comfort during their stay.
The rooms are decorated in close keeping with the home’s origins and each is
tailored to an alluring aspect of the area’s people, features and history. All guest
rooms have wash basins and queen, twin, or double beds. Private, semi-private
and separate men’s and women’s shared baths are amply equipped for maximum convenience. Two foyers provide undisturbed reading and conversation or television
and table game areas. The ample lawns invite outdoor comfort and BBQ grills and tables are provided for our guests’ use. Wake-up coffee and tea is available and a deluxe gourmet breakfast is served with personal hospitality daily at 8:30am. The
home is charming and quiet and provides a home-away-from-home in an ambience
of an older hotel-style atmosphere.
